Approximation of Reliability for a Large System with Non-markovian Repair-times

چکیده
Consider a system of many components with constant failure rate and general repair rate. When all components are reliable and easily reparable, the reliability of the system can be evaluated from the probability q of failure before restoration. In [14], authors give an asymptotic approximation by monotone sequences. In the same framework, we propose, here, a bounding for q and apply it in the ageing property case. AMS Subject Classification. 62N05, 90B25, 60K. Received January 10, 1998. A Non-Preemptive Two-Class M/M/1 System with Prioritized Real-Time Jobs under Earliest-Deadline-First Policy
This paper introduces an analytical method for approximating the performance of a two-class priority M/M/1 system. The system is fully non-preemptive. More specifically, the prioritized class-1 jobs are real-time and served with the non-preemptive earliest-deadline-first (EDF) policy, but despite their priority cannot preempt any non real-time class-2 job. The waiting class-2 jobs can only be s...

The present study deals with a robot safety system composed of standby robot units and inbuilt safety unit. When the main operative unit fails, it is replaced by the standby robot unit available in the system. The concept of reboot delay is also incorporated in this study according to which the robot unit is rebooted if it is not successfully recovered. The recovery and reboot times of failed u...
متن کاملMonte Carlo Simulation to Compare Markovian and Neural Network Models for Reliability Assessment in Multiple AGV Manufacturing System
We compare two approaches for a Markovian model in flexible manufacturing systems (FMSs) using Monte Carlo simulation. The model which is a development of Fazlollahtabar and Saidi-Mehrabad (2013), considers two features of automated flexible manufacturing systems equipped with automated guided vehicle (AGV) namely, the reliability of machines and the reliability of AGVs in a multiple AGV jobsho...
متن کاملA Multiprocessor System with Non-Preemptive Earliest-Deadline-First Scheduling Policy: A Performability Study
This paper introduces an analytical method for approximating the performability of a firm realtime system modeled by a multi-server queue. The service discipline in the queue is earliestdeadline- first (EDF), which is an optimal scheduling algorithm. Real-time jobs with exponentially distributed relative deadlines arrive according to a Poisson process. All jobs have deadlines until the end of s...
متن کاملReliability of Repairable System with Removable Multi-Repairmen
In this investigation, the explicit expressions for reliability function and mean time to failure (MTTF) of a repairable system with provision of spares and removable multi-repair facility have been established. In removable repairmen strategy, the repairmen turn on when there are N or more than N failed units and turn-off when system is empty. The failure times of operating/spare units and rep...
